Caleb Michael Connerty, son of Susan and the late Rob Connerty, and Laura Elizabeth Smith, daughter of James and Laura McLaurin Smith, are engaged to be married Saturday, May 3, in Charleston, S.C.
Caleb and Laura met in August 2023. Laura is a meteorologist for CBS News in Raleigh, N.C. She was born and raised in Charleston, S.C., and graduated from the University of South Carolina. Her first TV job took her to Bangor, Maine. Her career took her back home for some time before she moved to Raleigh to join the storm team. Laura is a fraternal twin and has two older brothers.
