Some Adair County residents along State Highway 11 may have had their power knocked out after a single-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon.

It happened at 4:15 p.m. about 6.5 miles southwest of Kirksville.

A state trooper on scene told KTVO that a black SUV was eastbound on the highway, when the driver from La Plata, Missouri, fell asleep behind the wheel, traveled off the side of the road and struck a power pole.

The 33-year-old unnamed female driver did not suffer injuries. She was wearing her seatbelt.

Tri-County Electric responded to the scene to assess any damage to power lines along the highway.
