Paul Napoli Appointed to Leadership Role in Colorado Water Contamination Litigation

DENVER, CO--(Marketwired - November 21, 2017) - Napoli Shkolnik PLLC is proud to announce that Paul J. Napoli was named Liaison Counsel in the Colorado PFOA / PFOS Toxic Tort Litigation (Bell, et al. v. The 3M Company, et al., No. 1:16-cv-02351-RBJ) by the Honorable Judge R. Brooke Jackson of the United States District Court for the District of Colorado.

Mr. Napoli was selected for this role as he has extensive experience litigating complex environmental litigations and has served as Liaison Counsel on numerous toxic tort, class-action cases.

Paul Napoli has previously represented individuals whose drinking water was contaminated with MTBE, a Pennsylvania community whose private water wells were contaminated with methane as a result of hydraulic fracturing and neighborhood residents in Florida who were exposed to toxic incinerator ash.

"I am ready to go the distance for the people of Security, Fountain, and Widefield," said Paul Napoli. "This situation is inexcusable and the community has struggled long enough. It's time for action and accountability."

Paul Napoli and the Napoli Shkolnik environmental department have established themselves as legal leaders in cases related to water contamination cases involving exposure to perfluorinated chemicals (PFC's), including perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS). The firm continues to investigate and file cases on behalf of communities across the country, including residents in New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania, who are facing the serious health issues and property damages related to such exposure.

"We know that the consequences of PFC-exposure can be life-threatening," said Patrick J. Lanciotti, an environmental attorney with Napoli Shkolnik. "As a result of this contamination, people have been unknowingly exposed to dangerous man-made chemicals for decades, and are now at an increased risk of being diagnosed with debilitating, lifelong injuries through no fault of their own." he added.

The lawsuits seek to recover for personal injuries, property damage, and future medical monitoring from the chemical manufacturers, The 3M Co., Tyco Fire Products L.P., National Foam, Inc., Buckeye Fire Protection, and Chemguard, who developed, marketed, and sold firefighting foam containing PFOA and PFOS to the United States Department of Defense.

It is Napoli Shkolnik's hope that these lawsuits will help the residents of Security, Widefield, and Fountain recover damages related to PFC-exposure, diminution in property value, and establish a long-term health monitoring system for those who have been exposed to the contaminated water.
